The Hillfields were born in the Royal Festival Hall, overcome by the raw power of Iggy Pop’s 2007 Meltdown gig, A beautiful evening, and a choice selection of beers… The line up includes Rob Boyd – guitar and vocals, Grant Wilkinson – bass and Carlos Russell on drums.

A sparsely lit home studio somewhere in Barcelona. One man with some friends humming along. Smell of cigarettes, cold coffee and guitar wood. Tiny tunes recorded in the moment when they are written. In single takes most of the time. Like notes in a diary. Or foot prints on a muddy path.

Boyd
Boyd - bedsit troubadour Boyd found his musical feet playing guitar and recording demo’s on dodgy equipment, before hitting the stage with comedy punk outfit Partition, from early 2000. A handful of solo Boyd gigs followed with a few self released collections of acoustic demos culminating in the Boyd ep emerging in 2006.
